OMG, it's content!
I'm finally getting through my photo processing from Winnipeg. For those of you keep track, I have several sets from Seattle that aren't posted yet, as they were waiting on captioning. Then my captioning system corrupted my photo database and I had to go elsewhere. I went to Bibble. It's far more powerful than F-Spot, but doesn't do so well with the captioning (as far as I can tell). So, the next several sets I post will be sans-captions, but that's OK, as I don't caption photos of people I don't know anyway.
So, here is my first WFF2009 Post - Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas
I am more literary than musical, so instrumental acts generally don't do much for me. However, I've always liked Celtic music, and going elsewhere would have taken effort, so I decided to give them a try. I am extremely glad that I did. I knew Alasdair Fraser's work and that he was going to be good. I had no idea that Natalie Haas would be good too, and that together they would be excellent.
I never would have thought that just a wee fiddle and a big fiddle (she called it a "cello", but we all know what it really is) would be complete together. I had no trouble sitting and listening for an hour. Of course, it didn't hurt that Alasdair is a good showman and seemed to get a kick out trying to get Natalie to loosen up and smile (only succeeding a few times, she's a good straightman).
If you like Celtic music, I heartily recommend them. If you don't, then just enjoy the photos:
