So, it turns out that my lawn has a bit of poison ivy in it. I discover this after spending a weekend doing yard work.
I got a little bit in various spots on my hands, and it's been slowly erupting for the last several days. Luckily, I found a solution...
See, the problem with poison ivy, at least for me, is that a blister will pop, and the oil will go to another part of my hands, and make another blister, so the stuff has been moving around on me. Yesterday, I got one on my palm. Not very pleasant.
So, here is what I did. Hypothesizing that the blister contained pus and poison ivy oil, and that pus is water-based, I got some Purell (alcohol gel), and put some on my pocket knife blade. I also put a nice sized dollop on my hand. Then, when everything is nicely antibacterialized, I made a small slit in the blister. It was amazing, the gel was so clear, I could see the oil separate from everything else and rise to the top of the gel. Then, once I knew it was empty, I just soaked it all up with a paper towel.
The itchiness is completely gone.
