Jun. 26th, 2005 01:34 pmWhile with
grrscary in Montreal, I stumbled across the mention of "cagn / kaggen / kaang" as a trickster archetype in bushmen legends. While researching this, I ran across this as an interesting interpretation of stories, beliefs, and art. I do not know how accurate it is, but some of the ideas are interesting.
I find it interesting that in several creation myths, you have people that used to be animals, but in Africa (or certain segments thereof), the animals used to be people.
It's harder to find stories about Cagn and African Mythology than it is to find Coyote and Loki tales. Does anyone have any favorite references for this?
