Mar. 21st, 2007 09:03 amSo, since one arm of my company is consulting, part of my job is to keep my resumes up to date. While it's somewhat odd to update your resume at work, I've gotten used to it. Yesterday, I was asked to help a new coworker update his. He's an excellent worker, but got his job from being promoted as an intern. Thus, he's never really had to build one before, and his first attempt was, frankly, somewhat laughable.
So, I took him out to lunch and grilled him on what he's done. Then I took half an hour and wrote one out.
I showed it to his direct boss as well as him, so that they could correct any errors. Once he looked it over, he said with a note of surprise in his voice: "Wow, this guy is cool, I'd like to meet him."
Now, *that* is a job well done.
