Last weekend was Minicon, and I structured the trip to I could go to both zoos and take photos. This is my set from the Como Zoo. The Como Zoo is a free zoo in Minneapolis, which is part of a group dedicated to provide all citizens with an opportunity to appreciate nature.

As a zoo, it's OK. As a free zoo, it's pretty good. It is, however, a summer zoo, and I went on the coldest day of April. Most of my photos are of indoor animals. And they were mostly shot through glass, which my camera doesn't do to well.

Continuing my Como Zoo set, we move on to things that aren't apes or monkeys. The other interesting bit about the Como Zoo was that I had the best salad in the world there. It was a strawberry vinaigrette, with yummy nuts. Absolutely amazing.

On the same ground as the Como Zoo, is the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, which is a fancy name for "botanical center", which is a fancy name for "plant place". It is part of the same mission to bring nature appreciation to the city's residents for free. As it is to be expected, it is a crowded place. I'd love to have several hours as the only one there taking photos, and it would be nice if tripods were allowed, but alas, we live in an imperfect world.

At it is, I got a few that I liked using my little camera and a chain-pod. If you want to see everything, here is the set.
