Today is summer

"it's like we're hanging around baggiecon. minus the music, all the other people and the winnipeg heat."
I know that many of us suffer from / deal with SAD. I don't know about the rest of you, but it often seems as though February is the worst. It feels like it's colder, darker, and damper than the other months. (At least it's also shorter.)
So, I declare today to be an honorary summer day. Your mission is first, to get warm. I recommend home-made applesauce -- served hot. (My recipe below the cut). Then, when you're ready, click the cut link. Below you will (hopefully) find a YouTube playlist of some of the artists at last year's Winnipeg Folk Fest. Click the play button (if it doesn't auto-start) and scroll down. There, you will find a slideshow of photos that I took over the last two summers. (The flickr slideshow isn't compatible with some browsers. If you get nothing and *want* to see the photos, click on the link under the box. Otherwise, just enjoy your applesauce and the music.)
If we do it right, there will be music and heat. If we all do it, there will also be other people, and we'll actually have a bit of Baggiecon going on.
