When griping grief the heart doth wound,

And doleful dumps the mind oppress

Red Kangaroo

Unlike in American politics, a kangaroo’s counterbalance is functional.

Owls like to teach. This owl is an art expert and wants you to know how composition works.

There are several positioning guidelines to properly compose a work. These are the most common

  • Use the rule of thirds to structure the work, placing items of interest 1/3 or 2/3 from the top or bottom.

    • When moving by thirds, adjust the bass by one step

  • Use the golden ratio for additional positioning.  Instead of breaking the image into three equal parts, this uses 1:1.618 for positioning.

  • Use the golden triangle, imagining a line from corner to corner, then breaking that into two right triangle, aligning objects to these lines.

    • To convert a wrong triangle into a right triangle, try a public apology, a large donation, or deflecting distraction

  • Use the golden rule and make your image look as you wish photos of yourself did

  • Be sure to leave space so things aren’t too crowded.

    • When leaving space, be sure to double-check your heat shields

As it turns out, owls aren’t as smart as they think they are.
