On Friday I took a trip out to the Neil Smith wildlife reserve. It's basically a huge prairie reconstruction project. It tends to be fairly isolated, and it's a good place to go when you want to be alone but not in your house. In this case though, I didn't want to be alone, so I went with my friend and his daughters.

Once we got there, we realized that there had been a recent prairie burn, so it was unlike I had never seen it. The photos in the set aren't wonderful, but it was a good chance to get out into the weather.

Oh, that one where it looks as if the burn got the bird too is very creepy.

Extremely cute wildlife, apart from that!

I thought it looked like the bird was in a cage. Maybe some kind of bio-electrical field.

I thought he looked cute, too, but with the little sticks up, and him still there, I was thinking about a non-physical cage, too.
