Otter Pile - The African otters weren't doing anything... but they were doing nothing extremely well.


White-cheeked Gibbon (Hylobates concolor) - I'm really glad that the native trees here grow apples instead of Gibbons.

Hermit Crab - Yeah, those colours are real.


Blobby Thing - The undersea world is weird.

My hermit crabs were nowhere near that interesting. Only zoos get the cool ones.

It's an underwater salt water crab. Homes can get them too... but then you'd have to maintain a salt water tank... which I've heard isn't exactly trivial.

No, they're not. I know ginko, but I don't recognize those.

Hmm, what sound effects do you suggest for the otter pile?

I was so jealous of the pileated woodpecker tongue in your last set of highlights that I couldn't even comment, but that's a splendid photo.

A serious of quiet beeps. Usually otters are too active for you to hear the beeps over the splashing, but when they sleep, they are faintly audible.
