Here is my next set. When I visited my parents over Christmas, my mother and I went to the zoo that I used to go to when I was a kid. This zoo is mostly snakes and monkeys, but they're slowly expanding. As usual, there are no snake pics here, 'cause they're scary.
If you're interested in the whole thing, here is the set otherwise, continue below for highlights.

Elephant shrews move FAST. I took around 50 shots, and only a handful turned out. This is complicated by my having to shoot through glass.

When I was a kid, there was a single blue macaw that stayed in the gift shop. They've added a friend and put them in a cage together. My mother expressed concern that they may not mate, as the first macaw probably thinks that he is a person by now, and doesn't recognize the other one as the same species.

These guys were eating oranges like they were running out. Interestingly enough, the radio just reported that, due to the cold snap, we are now running out of oranges. . . Psychic monkey?

These guys are so cute!

Nothing in the world is more important than solving the mystery of the orange peel.

This is a Chinchilla. This is not a bunny. Adults should read the signs before talking to their kids.

"If I hide behind this branch, that crazy person with the camera can't see me!"

He sat nice and still for me. Good boy.
