Banff

In the US, we would have a big sign saying “do not ride your bike up the stairs” with a reference to some legal code and a likely description of the fine. In Canada, they just put a small sign encouraging the activity they want to see.

I want to see some sample Canadian information security policy books now.

That might be a sign saying, "Look, we installed a nice ramp to help you push your bike up the stairs," but oddly the bicyclist is on the wrong side for that in the sign. At least the ramp is nice and wide. They have those in Portland, but narrower.

In England, instead of either kind of sign, they would hire someone to stand next to the stairs and look chagrined when you did the wrong thing.

It's much more developmentally appropriate to tell human what behavior you expect. The Canadians always have one up on us.
