Since I'm apparently not sleeping tonight, I figured that I could get the latest Minnesota Zoo set uploaded. The set is here. Highlights follow:

Spur Winged Lapwing (Vanellus spinosus) - Some days I dress like a Spur Winged Lapwing, but no one ever notices. I guess that a white shirt, black pants, and grey blazer are fairly commonplace in the working world.

Nicobar Pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica) - Remember my earlier "pigeon with a stick" photos? This is the finished nest... I suspect that it has eggs in it.

Poison Frog (Dendrobates azureus) - I feel sorry for the poison frogs at the Minnesota Zoo. The ones in Des Moines have a lot more space and friends.

Pygmy Loris (Nycticebus pygmaeus) - Late in the year, the leaves fall and the pygmy loris slowly ripens. Once he's a deep shade of red, the bud will pop, and the loris will detach from the tree - able to live an independent life.

Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens) - I just want to pick one up and cuddle it! . . . then I look at just how pointy those claws are.

Visayan Warty Pig (Sus cebifrons) - They say that pigs are quite intelligent, but it's rare that it comes across in photos. I think that, in this instance, it does.

Visayan Warty Pig (Sus cebifrons) - According to the sign, when these wild pigs start to resemble the Beetles, they're ready to mate.

Binturong (Arctictis binturong) - Only some people can stick out their tongue and curl it into a loop. This is genetics. Similarly, only some people can stick out their tongues and turn into a binturong. This is lycanthropy.

Binturong (Arctictis binturong) - I finally got a decent portrait of the binturong.

Lesser Flamingo (Phoenicopterus minor) - The reason your lawn flamingos don't move is because you don't give them enough water. They're like plants that way.
