Mar. 11th, 2007 09:39 pmOnce day class let out early, so I took advantage to get to the South Mountain Preserve before the sun set. I barely made it. There's a spot in the preserve called "Dobbin's Peak" that is accessible by car. I'm not quite crazy enough to climb an unknown peak in the land of rattlesnakes and cacti... at night. I drove instead.
Once I got there, I saw a beautiful vista (damn MS for taking that word from us) before me. I was enthralled by the land and light. I took photos for an hour as the sun slowly set. Once I finished, I turned around and was astounded by 50 to 100 people sitting behind me, looking the wrong way. See, while I was watching the natural landscape - cacti, shrubs, sun, and stone... everyone else was watching the smog settle on the city of Phoenix.
I don't get it.
Anyway, here is the flickr (set. Highlights below.
