Margo Frankel Woods
Apr. 9th, 2010 09:36 pmNo, these aren't the Minicon photos OR the Costa Rica photos. (Soon, I promise.)
This has been a hard week for various reasons, not the least of which is that I've been traveling a lot, and will be heading right back out again soon. It's like I have a mixture of doing too much while still not getting enough done. Other reasons exist, but since this is a public photo post, I shan't delve into them here.
So, since the weather was nice and I couldn't seem to find the impetus to do anything around the house (which desperately needs a vacuuming (last one was before Costa Rica)), I grabbed my GPS and camera and went to Margo Frankel Woods State Park. Let me just say that hiking GPS units are "teh awesome". I marked where the car was and then proceeded to follow deer trails for a couple hours. When I was ready to head back, I just looked at the GPS and blazed a trail directly to the car. (Granted, this is a tad easier this time of year when the underbrush is only three inches high :). I also took a small break near a babbling brook and read two chapters of Marcus Aurelius's Meditations (which is my current coat book).
All in all, it was nice. I wish I had a bit more energy generally, but until I get back into the swing of things, it's probably the best I can expect.
Of course, I took photos. I wanted to go light, so I had just the camera with one lens (which was nice) and no water (which was actually pretty stupid of me). The set is here and highlights follow.
( Like, right here, actually )
