Red River Zoo - Crabs, Frogs and Lizards
Jul. 31st, 2008 01:40 pmThe last of my Red River Zoo set.

Fiddler Crab (Uca speciosa) - Disco crab is happy it's Saturday night.

Fiddler Crab (Uca speciosa) - I honestly expected our alien overlords to look, well, more like us, really.

African Clawed Frog (Xenopus laevis) - In reading about these guys, I ran across this "there was a brief spate of excitement around this frog when it was determined that urine from a pregnant human female would cause an unmated African Clawed Frog to lay eggs". Can anyone explain just how that was discovered?

Surinam Horned Frog (Ceratophrys cornuta) - They say the eye is the window to the soul. Frogs have issues.

Panther Chameleon (Chamaelo pardalis) - I never realized how cute their hands were.

Your music festival photos are quite similar to your non-human-animal photos. I don't have a name for the similarity, just that you're good at capturing naked, revealing faces of all sorts. I really appreciate that.

Date: 2008-08-01 03:56 pm (UTC)I'm glad to hear that I have a style. The few times I take photos of people, I tend to pretend that they're animals in a zoo, as doing portrait work is a bit scary. I prefer to be either ignored or unnoticed, as I think it gives me a better chance of glimpsing reality.
