Concluding my Minnesota Zoo set.

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) - Pushing teetering bears into the water is hilarious . . . once.

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) - In my memory, the bear was not nearly this dorky-looking.

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) - Bear feet.

Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) - If you ever see this, and you're a fish, things are about to get a whole lot worse.

The secret to zoo photography is to wait until your subject is engaged in another activity and is unlikely to to notice the camera. If the light is working with you at the time, it's all the better.

Meerkat (Suricata suricatta) - Somewhere, off in the distance there is a snake watching a leopard listening to a can of tuna being opened.

Meerkat (Suricata suricatta) - Wikipedia says "Meerkats are primarily insectivores, but also eat lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs, small mammals, millipedes, centipedes and, more rarely, small birds." Somehow, the list left off elephants.

Meerkat (Suricata suricatta) - The best grin I could get. Need to go back with different lighting (or take the time to set up my flashes)

Break glass for emergency Teslation

Wolverine (Gulo gulo) - Waiting for a beer.

Date: 2008-08-13 03:46 pm (UTC)I did a bit more to get the meerkat in the elephant skull (I had to walk around and frame the shot, all by myself!), so thank you for that. :)
