A month ago I went to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. I just recently got done processing the photos, so I'm going to start sharing with you all. If you care, the set is here. Highlights follow:
These highlights include a few bug closeups... no spiders.

Butterfly - You can tell it's a butterfly because it doesn't have feathery antenna... and because it's orange... and because it's day... and because it's a butterfly exhibit.

Butterfly - Predatory butterfly awaits closer-swimming fish.

Butterfly - When she grows up, she wants to be a church window.

Butterfly - The really pretty butterflies seem to glow from within.

Lubber Grasshopper (Romalea spp.) - After I took this shot, the angsty artistic black and white grasshopper went to the local coffee house to sulk.

Lubber Grasshopper (Romalea spp.) - They're clearly built from parts. There must be a bin labeled "grasshopper bits" somewhere.

African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus) - Hwonk!

African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus) - Penguin migration speed was significantly improved by the addition of outboard motors.

Abyssinian Ground Hornbill (Bucorvus abyssinicus) - Birds are a lot smarter than we think.
