A meme... of sorts.
Oct. 8th, 2008 06:10 pmIf you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now (even if we don't speak often or ever) please recognize that I am not the boss of you and continue doing whatever you like.
It can be anything you want - good or bad - but it has to be your decision, not mine.
When you're finished, continue doing what you like... because random people on the Internet shouldn't have the power to make you follow their whims.

Date: 2008-10-09 10:50 am (UTC)As you know, I hate the memes, especially the ones that call out for action on my part. I find them inherently dull and the social connections they try to impose (not foster) inherently artificial.
I read lj to read about interesting ideas and experiences, to learn about new topics (like your photography), and to have my own perspectives stretched through the thoughts of others who I don't always agree with.
The memes are antithetical to my goals, so I find them to be noise, nothing more.
So, *applause* This meme I heartily endorse (it helps that I mostly buy the fundamental philosophy behind it).

Date: 2008-10-09 02:06 pm (UTC)I do, however, intensely dislike the imperative phrasing that has been appearing in the meme instructions. My reaction to such instruction is "who the hell do you think you are to tell me what to do".
I decided that a parody was a more socially acceptable response. :)
