I have many small sets from the Valley of Fire in Nevada. The first one is here. The park itself is odd. You basically drive around, park at "trailheads" and walk for about a mile along incredibly easy trails. It's a good way to spend a day, but not exactly what I'd call a hike.
No. At the end of a good hike, your legs should be arching, you should be out of breath and be swearing to yourself that this is the last time you'll do something this stupid.
Anything less than that is just a walk in the woods. :)
Austin--we're in the middle of a terrible (nearly two years) drought. Austin is usually quite green because we have lots of creeks that feed into the Colorado River (which is dammed into three lakes), but the lack of rain is really taking a toll.
I love the color palette of these shots. Usually, the black-and-white photos are par for the course, but for these, the color is so much a part of the composition.
