Blanding's Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) - "Dag Nabbit!"

Blanding's Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) - It is neither turtles all the way down nor all the way up. In fact, there's just the one.

Cardinal - Cardinal has a seed, but is not sharing.

Dragonfly - Dragonflies are not pollinators, despite how cool that would be.

Birds - Joy

Swallow - "Ruby for an ill child. Sapphires to the match girl and writer. Gold for bread. This probably won't end well."

Gobi - Gobis speak in binary. This means "one"

Gobi - "zero"

Gobi - Waiting for kids to get on the lawn so he can yell at them.

Coral - Within each coral is a hidden magical wonderland under the sea. Like Narnia, you can only enter while you are still small. Very small.

You had to go to the zoo to see a cardinal?

Date: 2009-10-31 02:01 am (UTC)The seed was, methinks, stuck to the upper beak. (What's the difference between a beak and a bill?)
And yes, the zoo has a much better native bird photography area than anywhere I've yet found in MN. (Not that I've looked very hard.)

I think. It's been a few years for me too, but not nearly as long for you. (I reread them about five years ago.)
