More Minnesota Zoo
Nov. 9th, 2009 06:12 pmMore from the Minnesota Zoo set.

Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) - It's rare that I see a bluebird in the wild. Even though this is a zoo, this was the pronghorn/bison exhibit, so I think a bluebird sighting counts as "wild".

Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) - This bear has a clump of grass to play with. It's not as good as someone's severed arm, but hey, you gotta live with what you can get.

Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) - Happy with sod.

Grizzly Bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) - "I loves my sod."

Cougar (Puma concolor) - Be really careful raking this Fall.

Chickadee - The variety of species of chickadees (or, as wikipedia calls them, "tits") are truly astonishing. You'd think that some people didn't have anything better to do but quibble over minor coloration differences. (Oh, wait.)

Turkey - If I didn't know better, I'd think that people would eat them like artichokes.

Squirrel - There's not much room in there for a brain, is there?

Goldfinch - I wish I'd thought of the seed sock. I'd have made a fortune.

Chickadee - I like how chickadees look against fall colours.

Date: 2009-11-10 12:45 am (UTC)The bird photos are really nice. I'm kind of glad that my leaves won't fall for a while, because I'd worry about a stray cougar.

Date: 2009-11-10 02:27 pm (UTC)If you get a chickadee on your finger, they have a really tough grip. A little painfull. Mrs. Norris gave me one once.
I went to the Lincoln Park Zoo this weekend. (don't tell the boy) I mentioned you a lot.
