Dim Light Photography
Mar. 3rd, 2010 08:49 pmMore from the set I've not yet captioned. These are some shots of my experiment with flash-assisted dim light photography. The problem is that a lot of flash photography overpowers the natural light, and everything looks somewhat fake. I tried to correct for this by significantly under-powering the flash and extending the exposure. In some cases, this seems to have made the colours wonky (colour balance is hard for someone like me). However, it allowed me to get shots I otherwise wouldn't have.
These shots were in something like a rain-forest environment, where it was cloudy, and the light was further filtered by leaves and dirty glass. Most were flash-assisted, but some were extremely long at a low ISO and used a tripod.
