Picnic

After the party a smaller group of us went on a picnic! Not surprisingly, I took my camera long. The set is here. I must say that when you're in the shade, but part of the shot includes full-lit sun, it's really hard to balance the light. I hope I did an OK job.

These are wonderful (even though I don't even know y'all)! Have you considered sending one to the Kodak "Picture of the Day" contest? It's free . . . I've never cracked it, but then I didn't have an adorable toddler in tie-dye trying to open gumballs or eat a dandelion! The 4th or 5th one with the sunglasses . . . might just get picked for shot of the day. Just a suggestion because I think these are great shots. You have an eye for color and you know the secret, which is "get close!" SO many people (including ALL of my family) backs up to "get it all into the shot" and makes a shot of nothing but specks, and I can't reform them from doing it.

Kodak's judges choose a lot of "wow" travel shots, but they also choose a lot of baby shots and people shots. Good luck if you try for it!

Hmm, their terms and conditions actually look reasonable.

I'll think about it.

Generally, though, I avoid doing such things because of the amount of time they take. It's hard enough for me to balance my photography with my day job, even without adding in the time hit of trying to get into contests.
