Is that a carpenter or mason bee nest? Here, folks get a piece of board and drill holes in them about 2-3 inches deep and they hang them on the sides of their houses and trees so that the bees will help their plants pollinate.

I like the no touchie touchie picture and the boy in the tree too :)
