Costa Rica - La Qunta - Butterflies
Aug. 3rd, 2010 09:40 amLa Quinta had a butterfly enclosure. They had fewer butterflies than the place I'll be posting later, but on the plus side, it wasn't 120 degrees in there. On the minus side, it's where I broke my elbow. The set is here.

The outside of the blue morpho is not blue.

But the inside is!

A close up. Shot handheld.

I just like the composition here.

This is the butterfly that broke my elbow. They're much more vicious than you'd think.

This one thinks she's a tiger.

Blue morphos are also shiny

Very shiny

Date: 2010-08-03 03:15 pm (UTC)The detail of the first shot is marvellous, but it doesn't have the curled tongue of your hand-held shot, which just slays me... and blue morphos are stunning. I love these, the whole set (wld_5867 in particular, there's something appealing about the off-centre framing... but if that's the bastard that broke your elbow, I hope he gets et by birds).
