Costa Rica - The Beach

There was one day in Costa Rica where it was beastly hot even if you weren't in a butterfly house. It was miserable. We were on a beach, and I seriously mis-packed camera-wise. I did not anticipate such a long hike to get where we were going and by the time we got there, I was pretty much done. If I could do it again, I would have packed much lighter and dropped the temp by about 15 degrees. Then I'd have gotten better photos.

It took forever to apply the beetle polish.


These little crabs were everywhere and hopping from rock to rock. It was impossible to get a good shot of the hopping though.


Except this one time.


These crabs were there too.


I think this is a gobi.


They kept hopping out of the water, likely because there was an eel around.


Some hermit crabs like to be in the water.

The beetle is indeed very shiny, and the hermit crab is cute.

When I was a child, we used to go to 25 cent movies at the Cinderella Theatre on Saturdays. They often showed those fabulous 50'shorror movies, like "The Crab".

I just had a flashback.

I could have stayed there all day. We totally do not have the same idea about pleasant beachiness.
