For those waiting anxiously for the photos I took vacation, don't hold your breath (or you'd die!), instead, look here. They're not my photos, but they are the rarest and weirdest mammal species ever named.
Ok the solenodons are scary. Not only do they look like rodents of unusual size, their teeth have grooves for injecting venom into their prey. They're mammals! There should be no injecting of venom! Agghh!
