Arizona Sonora Desert Museum

To escape the Winter two years ago, my family went on a vacation to Arizona. While I am not a fan of the racist culture they are building there, it is the only place in the US where one can experience the Sonora desert... which is my favorite place on the planet. After all, it's not the animals' fault that they live in a state that's embracing abusive tactics as an attempt to preserve the eroding power base in a changing world.

Anyway, now that my computer systems are better set up, I have begun processing the backlog. The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum set is here (warning, set has bugs and snakes in it). My favorite shot is below, highlights are below that.






I know. I don't like snakes. I don't like taking photos of snakes. They are, to put it frankly, scary as fuck. However, this particular snake was in the perfect position and perfectly lit. I cannot imagine getting a more perfect snake shot than this, so I am glad that I confronted my fears here.

Were you making faces at the sheep? I know that lizards are pranksters because they always stick their tongues out. Sheep usually don't do that unless you start saying that child's rhyme about the nanny nanny billy goat.... :)

If you get mammals right after they finish eating, they'll often give you a few tongue shot chances.

Those are awesome! I want to cuddle the fox. And back away very carefully from the scorpion, which looks a lot scarier to me than the snake.

Interesting. I'm guessing that, when you were a child, you did not fall into a nest of snakes along a muddy creek bed and been unable to escape for about three minutes.

It is a big horn sheep and, yes, I believe it's a ram.

I'm collecting photos of animals with their tongues sticking out (Hey, it beats some hobbies I've heard of ;)
