Red River Zoo - Mammals

It took a while, but I finished processing the mammals from the Red River Zoo. The set is here. As it turns out, I took a LOT of photos of mammals, so the highlights are a bit long.

One of the things you can do in Fargo is feed fiber pellets to cows. These are the same fiber pellets you feed to ducks, goats and horses. If those suckers also work on zombies, all my apocalyptic concerns are over.

Donkey - The fences with donkeys in them cost extra.

Horse - The horse posed right in front of the sign. Turns out that maintaining focus on an object three meters from you and one three hundred meters from you is a tad difficult.

Takin - Tiny Takin Taking Tranquil Time

Camel - Turns out that when camels flash you, they self-censor

Tanuki - Now with tanuki tongue!

Meerkat - "We may not nor we will not suffer this."

Duiker - This baby was one week old. They let me into the enclosure to take the photos of him. He was very skittish.

Chinchilla - The chinchilla did not want me to take his photo and hid from the set. Luckily, I was able to reposition the lights.

Flemish Mega Bunny - This is a photo of the mega bunny. You can't tell how huge he is from this photo, but trust me... MEGA BUNNY.

Resting Deer - The good deer provide shadows for the neighbor birds. . . The bad deer eat them.

Monkey - There were many technical challenges to the monkey shoot, but I think this one turned out well.

Takin - Taking takin tongue tableaus tends towards tremendous tribulation.

Takin - I wasn't fast enough to get the photo, but right after this, the baby takin pulled really hard on the fabric and got it out from under the rocks without upsetting a single glass.

Grey Fox - This fox. This is the fox that crawled into my lap.

Pallas Cat - I'm thinking about breeding these as a hobby. You know, with all that spare time I have.

Red Tufted Squirrel - If you want to maximize your chances at getting a squirrel, first pick one door, then, without looking, choose the other one. Then look on top of the box.

Red Tufted Squirrel - Remember that super hero posing squirrel that went all over Facebook? Well I got my own.

Bunny - Bunnies like to sit in their food. So do prairie dogs. I'd say it's a rodent thing, but sadly, I know too much about mammalian phylogenetics.

Meerkat - "Curse me, depose me, do the worst you can."

Meerkat - "Wherein, my lord, have I deserv'd these words?
Witness the tears that Isabella sheds,
Witness this heart, that, sighing for thee, breaks,
How dear my lord is to poor Isabel!"

Sorry, but yes, this is a kissing post.

Camel - Camels like the occasional light snack.

Tanuki - Their eyes reflect their surroundings and the depths of their soul. In this case, it's mostly the grass.

Peacock - It's hard enough to be a siamese twin peacock, but it's even worse when you can't swim.

Red Panda - Dude... I totally forgot how I was going to end this post.
