I spent much of the last week in Arizona for work. I took a few days for myself and visited my favorite places in the Phoenix/Tucson area. There will be photos coming as I get to them. (Since I'm sick at the moment, I'm getting to more of them than I thought I would have by now.)

While there, part of my fancy new camera broke. I get to deal with warranty stuff now, but I wanted to get all my photos copied and backed up first.

There are many nice photos that you'll be seeing soon, but first, I wanted to give a quick preview.

How much do I like my new camera?

This much. ---^

(A hand-held shot, no less.)

Yowser. There's a lot more than equipment behind that shot, but, yeah, there are a lot of cameras and lenses out there that wouldn't stand a chance at such a photograph. I'm glad camera and photographer are so well matched and suited to each other, and look forward to enjoying more evidence of the excellent pairing.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yeow!

(I know Geri just said that, but that was my first reaction as well.)

I'm a bit torn: I hope you don't feel so well that you have to go to work and not process photos. On the other hand, I hope you're feeling better and your warrantee tsurris is being handled easily.

We love your new camera, too, since you'll be sharing your photos with us.

I hope you get the camera fixed or replaced quickly and easily.

Wow! What a picture!

Feel better soon!

I seem to have run out of screamers. Thank the gods for that.

That's a glorious shot. I've shot a lot of bees and other insects, and it's really effing hard to get the focus that good. What lens and settings did you use?

Wow. Can we see a picture of the camera itself, with you in it for scale?

What I like about the shot is the golden glow of the bee against the cooler blues and greens of the flowers and leaves as she gathers some of the nectar that the sunlight helped to make.
