Partly because I posted fish yesterday, but mostly because if I post one more set, my "to be posted" list of sets on flickr will fit on a single line and my OCD will be satisfied.

The World Aquarium is a terrible little place. It's in a truly horrid little museum, so you have to pay twice. Once to get inside the "museum", which consists largely of screaming children running through a building filled largely with $1.00 final bid, free shipping items from eBay. Then once to get inside the aquarium which features very few children, but also a surprisingly small number of fish, amphibians and reptiles. However, it's hard to tell how many there really are, as some of them have more than one head. I did not take photos of those.

I did, however, get to see this Viper Moray Eel:

Viper Moray Eel (Enchelycore nigricans)

And then I left.

If you like visiting places to snark about how completely awful they are, this is totally worth a visit. If you're expecting a "world class" aquarium of "The World Aquarium", you might be a tad disappointed.

(It's OK though, because that evening, I got to eat at The Sidney Street Cafe, where I had the best meal of my life.)

That's okay, around the same time Houston last had a Super Bowl, they also opened up the "Downtown Aquarium":

Within the same exhibit descriptor, they started out with "Artic", correctly changed it to "Arctic", then changed it back again to "Artic". Most of the other descriptive plaques also had spelling/grammatical errors. Plus, it was too cold the day we went to ride the Ferris wheel. All in all, a wasted trip.

I once stopped at a place called "The Fish Museum" for obvious reasons. Turned out to be a tolerably good aquarium specializing in species that haven't changed in millions of years. It was kind of awesome.
It is in SD somewhere on the way from Omaha to Fargo.
