In March, I took a trip to Iowa. Parts of it went well, parts did not. (That's where I first got sick, which lingered for much longer than I would have liked.) However, for a few hours, I went to the Blank Park Zoo. It was a cold March, and since I wasn't feeling 100%, I didn't go outside much. I did, however, get some decent shots of my favorite frog place. A lot of the frogs were back, which was nice as compared to a year ago. They also had some new fish that were fun.

The set is here.

Here's my favorite:

I'm not thrilled with the eyes, but I like how the tongue turned out.

Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens) - So, it turns out that some stories don't end with a satisfactory resolution. Some of them end with a red panda sticking their tongue out at you.

Sorry.

Wonderful! I love your photos, always.

I'm pretty sure red panda in the last photo is Berry, who was born at the Detroit Zoo. Her mama has had two litters since Berry left us, and judging by how well she's getting along with her new partner, we have expectations of another litter in the fall.

P.S. I sent a "check out this photo" email to a Flickr friend who's a docent at the Detroit Zoo, and she confirms that the last photo is "our" Berry. She was very happy to see your photos that show Berry's enjoying her home in Des Moines.

Thank you so much!

Depending on the circumstance, a red panda sticking her tongue out at us is a satisfactory resolution.
