Continuing my photo sets from flickr.

This was my first visit to the Botanical Center here in town. They do not allow a tripod, so I made a chain pod and used that. Sadly, they don't have birds anymore. However, I took advantage of the opportunity to experiment with shape and colour. Unlike my other photos, these ones have no animals in them, but I think they're interesting from an artistic viewpoint.

If you're interested in the whole thing, here is the set otherwise, continue below for highlights.

Closeup of the bonsai tree
Closeup of the bonsai tree - I love the twistyness here.

Spiral plant close up
Spiral plant close up - It looks better closer up

Vines
Vines - So, if moss only grows on the north side of the tree, do vines only grow on the outside of the tree?

Red flowers
Red flowers - I like the repetition even more here.

Anthocyanintic plant
Anthocyanintic plant - Purple!

Figs
Figs - These figs are caught at the edge of a water fall. If they were people in a kayak, they'd be thinking "Oh no! We're all going to die!" But they won't, because they're figs.

Holey Leaf
Holey Leaf - Hmm, maybe this is Swiss chard?

Tall trunk
Tall trunk - I love how the trunks merge together. Wonder how that works.

Flower
Flower - Little red flower
