Feb. 26th, 2007 09:03 pmAfter the Phoenix Zoo closed, I went up to the Desert Botanical Garden. It stays open significantly later (likely because plants take less work than animals). I split my visits there over several days, but these are the photos from the trip right after the zoo.
Here is the set.

Knobbly Cactus - I forget the name of this guy, but I remember that it's a mutant of another type of cactus.

Golden Barrel Cacti - Don't go over a waterfall in one of these. (Not such a good idea with a real barrel either.)

Bunny - Apparently wandered from the zoo.

Wet Leaves - They had just watered these plants. I need to work on my water droplet techniques. This was more impressive in reality.

Mammillaria sonorensis - Flowering time

Burr - At least, in the midwest, it would be a burr, likely from insects. I'm not 100% certain here.

Saguaro - This is what it looks like if you took apart a cactus.

Ex-cactus - Arm of ex-saguaro

Night Aloe - Aloe lit up at night.

Night Cactus - The side of the mountain at night, with cacti lit up

Date: 2007-02-27 02:45 pm (UTC)I figure in a few years, once I know all the zoo animals on sight, I'll start working on plants. >:)
