Lichen - I like lichen! There's three types here.


Cactus Bones - Decaying cacti look so much more interesting than fallen trees. I like how you see the dead cactus with the green sprouts in the same image. (Looks best viewed large)


Cholla - I think it looks lonely there.

Desert Flowers - I don't know what it is, but it's pretty.


Cactus Falling Apart - I don't know what could cause this to happen.


Lichens - Aren't they pretty? (Looks best viewed large)


LIZARD! - This was the first in-the-wild lizard that I saw on this trip. Isn't he pretty?

Possible causes of cactus falling apart (no guarantees that any of these are actually correct): lightning or wind damage; bird damage; human malice.
