I submit, for your consideration, segments of two recipes. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to infer which recipe is more healthy one.
1) Mix corn syrup melted butter. Stir in farina and continue to stir over very low heat for 45 minutes.
2) Prepare artichokes by breaking off the 3 outer layers of leaves at the breaking point. Slice off 1 inch of the tips and a small portion of the stem. Slice in half and remove the purple choke. Scrape upper portion and stem to remove the dark green. Rub all cut surfaces with lemon.
Number 2. After years of reading cookbooks, I am coming to the conclusion that the more effort in a recipe, the better it is for you. Also, the more you remove from the original ingredients, the better it will taste. The trick is, you have to do it. If a company processes it for you, the company gets healthy, not you.
