Mar. 5th, 2007 04:23 pmI was lucky enough to attend a lecture at the Phoenix Zoo by the author of "Last Child in the Woods". Very interesting stuff. Even luckier, I got to go to the Zoo after hours for the lecture. I took photos. Here is the flickr set.

American Porcupine - This was the first time I saw him! He apparently hides until everyone goes home.

Collared Peccary (Javalina) - Close up, in case you've always been waiting to see a Peccary nose.

Collared Peccary (Javalina) - A nice side view, so you can see how silly they look.

Vultures - Hanging out on the edge of oblivion.

Coati - Treat time

Birds - Dinner time.
