Yep, you read that right.

According to the Ritter Farm Park, the Gray Squirrel, native to the East coast of the US, was first documented by Lewis and Clark as they explored the West, where it is now an invasive species.

Grey squirrels here in MN were introduced by Theodore Wirth, when he became parks superintendent. After 1906.
