Almost two years ago, I went to Tucson, largely to visit the Arizon Sonora Desert Museum. However, they close before it's bedtime, so I needed something to do. It turned out that, at that time, it was the Tucson Botanical Garden night event. They set up candles everywhere (which seems a bit risky in a garden of highly flammable plants, but they don't consult me on these things) and let people in. It's not great for photography, but I got six decent shots. The set is here.

This is what the paths looked like at night.

And this is what it would it would have looked like in 1935 before colour was invented.

Before I left Iowa, I took a few hikes in parks I'd not yet visited. Jester park was one up on the North side of town, and was supposed to be a group hike with the Sierra Club. As it turned out, I was the only one that showed up. (Not sure what happened to the organizer. Bears maybe?)

Anyway, the small set is here.

Here is my favorite:

It's really hard to get this sort of shot handheld. I was lucky.
